Theresa McCullough

Theresa McCullough is a specialist in the art of India and Southeast Asia. She started her career in 1994 at Spink and Son, London, had her own gallery in Mayfair, before working for Sotheby’s, New York, as a Senior Specialist. She was Principal Curator at the Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore, where she curated three permanent galleries for the museum’s redevelopment.

Her exhibitions and publications include Patterns of Trade: Indian Textiles for Export in the Asian Civilisations Museum (2023), Angkor: Exploring Cambodia’s Sacred City (2018), Treasures from Asia’s Oldest Museum: Buddhist Art from the Indian Museum, Kolkata (2015), and Exploring the Cosmos: The Stupa as a Buddhist Symbol (2013). Her research into a collection of maritime Southeast Asian sculptures originally from the Raffles Museum led to a Visiting Curatorial Scholarship at Yale University Art Gallery in 2022, researching Borneo sculpture.
